2008 Christmas Card

So, I realized I forgot to post our Christmas card this year. Oops... Here it is!

Much Love & God Bless
Cody, Honey, Kylie & Harley Jones
December 2008

You know, as I sit down this year to write to everyone, I’m struck by how fascinating time is. You see, it seems as if we spend the first part of our life, our childhood, wishing the days on the calendar would tick by at a quicker pace so we can reach that so called “Destination” whatever that may be, for each it’s different. Then, one day we look around and wonder how all of that time has faded into the past, our “Destinations” seemed to have changed, our children are growing up too quickly, our family vacations are inevitably too short, miles upon miles separate us from our families and somewhere along the way our calendar became more important than what’s right in front of us.

So, as I look back at this year I am grateful. Grateful for the time we have spent together as a family. The time we had with each other, and the fact that I am at least a year behind on my scrap-booking, yes that means I took quite a few pictures this past year. It also gives me something to do with Kylie, as she loves to look at pictures, name all of the people in them and ask questions of those she does not know.

I am also grateful for yet another trip to see the wonders of Alaska. It was wonderful to see Chris, Nicole, Colton, Cutter, Jennifer, Waleed & Tidbit (Maren). Not to mention; the awesome salmon fishing, the glacier expedition in Prince William Sound, the amazing “Ididaride” tour and who could forget… Nicole teaching me how to make jelly, and the whole messy canning process that goes along with it.

I am also grateful for the summer my sister Yvette spent here in the States. For the opportunity it gave for Kylie, Emily and Megan to spend time together, to get to know one another in person and not just in photographs.

I’m also grateful for the time we had with Gram this year in El Paso, just before the Lord took her home Easter Sunday to be with him. Gram was loved and is surely missed as we head into another Holiday Season, though we rest in the fact that she is in Heaven, she has reached her “Destination”.

Last, but definitely not least I am grateful for the Lord Jesus Christ, who in all of his GLORY has blessed us tremendously this year. And, as another year comes to a close, I urge you to slow down, toss that calendar out the window and Live, Laugh & Love. After all, that’s what life is really all about.
